I dont usually post up my work as its usually customer projects that are secret and not that interesting to look at but this is.
Anew didabled sitski that we designed and built in under 3 months. Was good to get back on the tools and laminate the structural parts and bodywork.

hi bruce, what are you using as a mould to get that near full circle? i would have use for a similar looking part that is much longer and would wrap aroud a roll cage, also how did you manage to get the honeycomb to come out so well through the carbon?

For a few years now Easy Composites have been working with the Antakari Solar Team in Chile, supplying all the composite materials for their Intikallpa solar car. They compete in the World Solar Challenge. A few weeks back our good friend at the team, Daniel Garrido, sent through some photos of the car when it arrived safely at Hidden Valley Motor Sport in Darwin, Australia. Daniel and the team make extensive use of carbon fibre composites in the body construction, primary using epoxy resin infusion and of course all composite materials supplied by us Smile
You can see the spread-tow carbon fibre used on the sandwich panel internal bulkheads in this photo:

The main body of the car is all done in carbon fibre composites too. You might just make out the Easy Composites logo on the side of the car. Thanks guys Smile

We wish the whole of the Antakari team the best of luck with the car. If you'd like to find out more about the car, the team or the series, you'll find them at:

I just started designing on computer about 3 weeks ago and I would like to hear your opinions on this project that I am working on. My goal is to create a great design then go all in and make it from scratch. But so far this is all I have learned in 3 weeks. Please leave your comment.

It depends how far you want to go on the design side.  You could design every panel and item or just use the shape to get a solid model to cut a foam buck from then do the rest separately.
