Hi.

Ok happened my fault.
I did not steer resin enough or used wrong ratio, after 5 days still have few soft spots on my part.
What can I do to fix it?
Or it cannot be fixed and i have to scrap the part.
Part das not need to look nice it is bottom part of my bonnet.

Initially try and use some heat to see if it will cook off.  Is it right through or just on the surface? Surface you can just gouge it off and recoat.

Patches of poorly cured resin are not usually a mixing ratio issue  -  the whole lot would likely be soft if it is.  Patches is normally poor mixing, either you didn't spend enough time mixing or did not mix it properly.  Sometimes it can be the last dregs from the mixing bucket too but that can be avoided by mixing, then pouring into a jug or similar to infuse from.

Hi.
Thank you for quick answer.
Hot air gun did not help much so i recoat everything with resin (mixed correctly with hardner this time).
Anyway infusion proces was very smooth thanks to your products, top part of bonnet will be next.
Any advise to infusjon this big parts will be apprecieated, bonnet is 1.7m long ad 1.6m wide.
Picture of bottom part recoatet in attachment.

My setup for top part will be:
- 2 x 220gm twill

- peelply
- vaccum bag

If you haven't already done so then i would recommend watching our video series on making a bonnet. It covers exactly what you are doing.

If the frame is reasonably stiff, then use only one layer of cloth on the surface so that your bonnet skin has a balance laminate and is less likely to warp.  Probably unlikely to be a major issue but on a good sized bonnet, you could knock things out a few mm  with warpage from an  unbalanced laminate. Usually that is within tolerance of adjustment on the latch and  hinges though.
