I have just had everything delivered to do resin infusion. I have made my mould, and am pretty much ready to go.
I am fairly nervous about making the 1st one. Does anybody have any tips on doing some kind of practice run?

The carbon material is rather expensive, and I was toying with the idea of using some other kind of fabric for a practice run, would this work the same?

i think for my first few pieces, i will use FG first part.
the 2nd maybe use polyester and CF for the visual first layer and FG and some sort of bulking material . same for the underside of what i am making(hoods/bonnets)

not sure if the expense of CF is worth it as i make my panels and learn on the job as it were.
once i am confident, then i ll try a full on CF part and see how i do.

i am a perfectionist, i suggest maybe not moving to the next stage of your process until you are sure you have
it ready to go. dont infuse until you have the setup holding a steady vacuum.

best of luck--

Scott
