Hi,
I want to seperate a fillament wound carbon tube from a steel bicycle frame that was bonded using Vuduglu
Can this be done without cutting the tube or damaging the carbon tube or the steel frame? heat, acetone etc?

Cheers Tony

Googling this brings up many solvents, but readily available acetone is frequently mentioned. Try it on a test piece first.

Unfortunately no off the shelf solvents will touch cured adhesive. Also The bond strength is typically higher than the interlaminar sheer strength of carbon fibre so ripping it apart is likely to lead to the carbon delaminating before the glue goes. If you have a reasonable bond gap, abrading away the adhesive is likely the best way.

The best way is heat and movement.
If you can apply the heat to the inside of the meal tube so it transfers outwards to the glue before the carbon even better
