OK need a little help I've done a quick video as well to show what im on about

I've vaccum bagged my lay up and got absolute vaccum, but when I do a drop test leaving it 15min when I come back to it turn the pump on and release the clamp it starts pulling vaccum again then after a few minutes it pulls absolute vaccum again without touching anything,

Is this normal or is something causing it to do this? I don't want to infuse it if airs getting into the bag

Thanks Paul

Ive found most leaks are around the tape and especially at the vacuum intake and outlet at the bag seal.

I'm the king of micro leaks and eventually you have to admit defeat and re bag it.

if you can get a second person to watch the gauge you may be able to find the leak by slowly working over the bag while they watch as the speed of gauge drop changes as you touch it.

to answer your question if you do not have a digital vacuumreader you can get "full" vacuum on the gauge with a leak.
But if it drops after a few hours, like you say, you dont have fully sealed bag and you have to keep searching or rebag Smile
