OK need a little help I've done a quick video as well to show what im on about
I've vaccum bagged my lay up and got absolute vaccum, but when I do a drop test leaving it 15min when I come back to it turn the pump on and release the clamp it starts pulling vaccum again then after a few minutes it pulls absolute vaccum again without touching anything,
Is this normal or is something causing it to do this? I don't want to infuse it if airs getting into the bag
Thanks Paul

Well been over the bag a million times and can't find the leak, I can get it to pull vaccum but once it's clamped there's a very small leak some where,
I didn't think it would pull full vac if there's a hole any where?
Looks like I'll have to rebag it?

Hi
Good housekeeping helps regarding leaking bags so make sure you bagging material is stored in a way that it wont be damaged, also when you are cutting the bagging material make sure you have a clean and clear working area . If you cant find a leak within 20 minutes re bag the mould it saves a lot of frustration when your starting out , also don't rule out a leak on the mould itself .

The vac bag has been stored it a sealed bag out of the way,
Would it still be able to pull full vac if there was a leak in the mould? How would I go about finding a leak in the mould?

Hi
One way to check it is envelope bag the mould but make sure the back of the mould has been sanded to remove any sharp areas, you can also cover the back of the mould with breather fabric to reduce the risk of damage when envelope bagging.

Not sure I'd be able to envelope bag it due to the size and weight of the mould,
Hmmmm not really sure what to do

Ive found most leaks are around the tape and especially at the vacuum intake and outlet at the bag seal.
I'm the king of micro leaks and eventually you have to admit defeat and re bag it.
if you can get a second person to watch the gauge you may be able to find the leak by slowly working over the bag while they watch as the speed of gauge drop changes as you touch it.

to answer your question if you do not have a digital vacuumreader you can get "full" vacuum on the gauge with a leak.
But if it drops after a few hours, like you say, you dont have fully sealed bag and you have to keep searching or rebag
