Peel ply question

Group: Forum Members Posts: 11, Visits: 138	Hi guys, I'm about to try my first infusion , It's a small cafe racer seat with a lot of shape Can I cut the peel ply to lay it neater or is it ok to have big folds in it Thanx in advance Wayne :0)

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 28K	I had an issue once there I tried laying it with folds in it, and I didn't realise it actually pinched a small amount of carbon fibre in one of the folds. Of course when that infused and cured, it mechanically locked the peel ply in place so I ended up with this shred of peel ply permanently stuck in the part. Ended up binning it. These days I always cut the peel ply so that it lays flat on the surface. I put perforated release film over the top so that I can remove it all easier come demould.
