Hi all, I'm going to be making a flat carbon fiber practice panel with a 2 mm soric tf core and I'm wondering if it is necessary to chamfer the edge like I've seen in some literature? Going to be using a standard 2x2 twill weave to cover the core.

The chamfering seems common with more solid foam cores but just wanted to check before I finalize my plan. Thanks!

If it's a part with cosmetic clear carbon surface, yes. Soric core leaves a visible edge on the surface, chamfering the core reduces it significantly. but with thin skin layups it's hard to avoid completely.
