Lantor Soric Core

Hi all, I'm going to be making a flat carbon fiber practice panel with a 2 mm soric tf core and I'm wondering if it is necessary to chamfer the edge like I've seen in some literature? Going to be using a standard 2x2 twill weave to cover the core.

The chamfering seems common with more solid foam cores but just wanted to check before I finalize my plan. Thanks!

I'm making the panel over sized and plan to trim it back to my specific dimensions so ultimately the chamfered edge in question is going to be cut off.

Does that change the recommendations for or against chamfering the edge?

Yes. Don't bother with chamfering. This is only a cosmetic issue
