I'm new here on the forum and I'm really enjoying seeing the different projects.

This bike fender and the engine cover are so well done. I hope to be able and do something so nice one day.

Here we go, the Nissan skyline GTR  engine cover.
This part is extremely tricky to work with resin infusion, the most critical steps is set up the CF on the mould without any spotlight distortion weave, there are some trick I would like to share. As you can see below that the part has already one, but i decide to mould it again because I got a orange peel conture on the mould and also the part may you can't  spot it at pict. Yes, first I spray poxy filler for 3 times then wet sanded to remove the peel orange surface. The pict how to set up the CF part will be post here soon after I finish the mould.

It's made from carbon fibre/4 layer because of  high temp replacement part.

Regards

I just saw that on the finishing you said you used Spies Hacker plastic primer. Is it Clear? Why not just clear coat, have you seen any advantages???

Yes it takes lots of advantage, plastic primer applied first to ensure that the clear coat get the proper surface to stick on the carbon fibre parts, then void pin holes effect or fish eye when clear coat apply.

Leon,

That part looks amazing!  my first mould is curing as I type...  I'd be happy if it comes out half as good as yours!

Excellent Result!!! Did you use any gelcoat on the mold?
Process of producing the part was not use any gel coat like GC 50, just normal wax no 8 without buffing the surface (not gloss surface) to void hard sticking when demolds. The gloss finish is only clear coat and polishing work.
