Use carbon fiber part to fix/reinforce ABS parts

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2, Visits: 29	Hi everyone, Sorry for my poor English. I want to use carbon fiber to fix/reinforce my scooter ABS parts. The plan is make some carbon fiber tenon(Sorry. I am not sure how to call it in English...) to replace original tenon on the part. Please refer to the red mark in the picture. I need make two materials stick together(ABS and carbon fiber). The question is what kind of adhesive should I use? E515, ET500, ET538, PT326, PU18 or others solution/advised? Best Regards & Thanks

Group: Forum Members Posts: 363, Visits: 3K	The ABS needs to be treated to allow the epoxy to bond. CLEAN ABRADE (400grit) CLEAN FLAME TREAT (Pass a naked flame from a blowtorch over it quick enough not to char/burn/deform the ABS but slow enough to react the surface) ALLOW TO COOL EPOXY Don't touch the flame treated surface otherwise the oils in your skin will stop the thing from bonding. Search Youtube for ABS Flame Treatment Chris.
