Hi Andy,

I don't think you realise just how well you're doing with such a ridiculouslyambitious project! The clip is a triumph of skill and determination overdifficulty and even the infused 'skin' stripes seem to continue your Midastouch. If the bean-counting ever gets boring then I know where I'd turn if Iwas you!

Can't wait to see more, your project is inspiring a lot of people.

Matt

My car has stripes over it and these are going to be in laquered carbon... this is easy on the rear as its a carbon part, but the tub isnt and I have no intention of replacing the tub soooo.

I decided to infuse carbon onto the roof... rubbed it back to gel coat and then 2 layers of carbon.

Made a new mistake by not using any peal ply or any kind of flow material and the pump struggled to pull the resin through the weave, I had to litterally help help it through using a squeegee
All worked out good in the end though Smile

I just thumbed through your thread and I must say that you did a great job!!!! Glad to see that you were successful on such a huge piece. I hope to have half the luck with parts 1/10 that size. Wink

Bloody good work!

Some people keep the pump on all the time anyway, so if it can hold a vacuum despite the leak, as you found youd get away with it to an extent.

If youve got any pinholes in the areas you want visible, then fill them with resin.  I presume the whole thing will be laquered on top of the paint and bare carbon anyway? If so you should be able to repair any pinholes and they will be virtually impossible to see once lacquered and fitted to car.

Fantastic weight saving too. I imagine you could pretty much to the whole body in CF and have a really light weight noble.

Just take your time with trimming and finishing off. Youve come too far to screw it up by rushing it!!
