I am currently making some bespoke motorcycle panels which are going to require a split mould. Given the flat-ish nature of the parts it would be easier to use your epoxy putty. Can I apply the same techniques shown in your split mould video just substituting the gel coat etc for putty?

I have also made my first split mould which was stressful but quite rewarding! It has a couple of small chips around the join lines where I wasn't thorough enough with either the release agent or the wax. Is there any way I can fill/repair these or is it best to just dress the part after manufacture?

Yes, You can, I find the epoxy putty to be excellent for smaller parts, and I have made several split moulds with it ..

I reality it just replaces both the coupling layer and the rest of the glassfibre layers in the process..

And you can work in a smaller workshop, and not have the smell to bother you...

You will have to use an Epoxy tooling gelcoat with it.  

So far I'm on the third bucket of 5 kg's of putty ... The moulds made from it are very strong, and will last for a lot of pulls from it, and are easily repaired.
