Is it possible to brush on the clear gel coat, as I have a large multi piece mould with overhanging flanges which make it impossible to spray on the gel coat?

How about brushing on with a semipermed mold with frekote semiperm? That stuff is so slick that I would be worried about the gelcoat balling up and forming droplets before it begins to tack..... any insight?
