QUICK QUESTION: The heat shrink tape - can't see any indication of whether it's interior or exterior face (with respect to a presented roll) that should be applied to epoxy layer, i.e. there's no adhesive on either side of tape - if this is so I take it either way up is OK, before applying heat...

LOL wear gloves then your fingers wont get so sticky!!!  When i do wetlay such as when making moulds, I end up changing them every 5-10 minutes as otherwise you end up in a goey mess and your fingers lift up the carbon youve just pressed into that tight hole.

Yes thats right it is about the same nominal thickness.  Obviously this will vary slightly in the finish product depending on the process used. Generally for resin infusion or vacuum bagging you are looking at 4 layers per mm. However with wet lay it can be 3 layers per mm as it is not compressed so much.

Hi

What's the (nominal) thickness of the pre-formed tapes - the same as 2/2 195g cloth (.28mm)?

Looking at custom bicycle 'guards, so want an arc of circa 850mm length by 25mm width on a 280mm radius,  but the clearance between tyre and frame is ~1.5mm, so there's not a lot of room for multiple layers...
