Can I make a mold off of a lacquer primered part?

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 28K	Most polyester primers will work, some polyurethane primers will work. If you're using a regular automotive or any other polyurethane primer, ALWAYS test it! Better to test any new products if you haven't used them before.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 468, Visits: 3.5K	Some primers work and some can stick really bad. Primers are after all designed for good adhesion to the top coats. It's certainly a nice way to go when you can just sand a primer nice and smooth or even polish it a bit, then polish your mould further when done. But you should just do your own small test sample with the primer and exact release system/technique etc to know for sure if it releases ok. Fastacraft Facebook page
