Ive had nothing but problems with uni mould, I'm clearly doing some thing wrong haha.

Any way i pulled a part today (first time using the mould) (and first 2 piece mould) And as you can see from the pics it has gone dull and can see some print on it.

Before i layed up, the mould was really shiny.

Any advice would be great..

This is the other half (not as bad)

I would suggest it's insufficient application of release agent. Were you using a chemical release agent or wax?

I was using easy lease, 4-5 coats.

One side was easier to release than the other

As said it looks like not enough release applied.

I don't do the 4 or 5 coat thing, I apply coats until you get that feel of silk, on the 4th,5th,6th coat what ever it takes you suddenly feel a difference in how the release agent feels when applied, all goes super smooth and has a feel all of its own that it didn't have before.

How long do you wait between applying coats?

Not sure but looks like you have some print through from the heavy fiberglass cloth behind...
So might be you haven't let the gelcoat cure enough.
Second possible problem might be how the release agent was applied, did you buff it inbetween the coats?
Have you cleaned your mould with some hot soapy water after?!

a third cause might be humidity or a bad cure due to low temperatures now

my friend i had the same crap only different options. That caused old wax or not enough release agent. Or i think mainly that piece that you waxed not eat good wax to get out after molding that way it copy surface to your mold. that was to me when i had 0 knowledges and experience. Wish you good luck.
