Started an oven build today so thought i would make a thread to post my progress.
This is all new to me so I'm sure il have some questions on the way, and you can all correct me if i do something wrong
Made the frame out of 15mm steel box tube
Then a 1mm steel outer skin
What size element would be good for this size oven?
Its 1 meter x 600mm x 600mm

I hope you are going to insulate it? If so 2Kw will be ample.
Brian.

and earth it!
Insulate the inside with celotex or similar, use a 2kW oven heater element and a fan with temperature process controller and you'll be well away

Yeah I'm going to insulate it with 50mm celotex.
Where is the ideal place to mount the element? On the bottom or one of the sides?
Im thinking of getting a round element and having a fan in the middle of it (how most domestic ovens are)

Looking good so far! are you going to have any runners for shelves inside the oven.
I am about to start building my oven in the next week or so

I would also recommend VacInnovations, they have all the kit you could possibly need and whenever I have rung them they have been helpful.
