Hi guys,

I use Carbon, E glass, S glass, Kevlar types of fibers with different areas and thicknesses. Sometimes we had a big problem because stirred too much resin and hardener. Then I researched and find something useful for me from Gurit,Easycomposites and my supervisor Dr. Icten. I wrote an application for android phones. You can download with this link to your android phone.

Here is video;

Don't forget this is only for infusion process. Notakes responsibility for mistakes. It is compatible with laminates, is not for sandwich composites because core materials absorb different amount of resin.

What do youthink about my app, please share with me your ideas, offer for this.

Thanks guysJ

thanks for the app, installed it and will try it...quickly found some mistake I think:
lets say 0,6smq, 3 times 200g sqm carbonfiber = 794grams (says your app)
in fact 0,6x3X200 = 360grams!

lets say your 794 was correct:
your resin calculator tells me following
ratio infusion resin 100-30
your calculator says:
resin 611 + hardener 183 = 794 gram

thats an infusion ratio of 50/50 which is mostly correct in good circumstances... but you are forgetting your peelply, infusionmesh, tubing, catchpot,...

If I make a calculation, I weigh my fabric, add 30% for infusionmesh and so on and mostly add a bit to end up with an easy mixingnumber like 200+60 or 300+90 or 400+120 or something inbetween (+50/+15)

So conclusion is: idea is great but still some work to do Winkhttp://www.talkcomposites.com/Uploads/Images/0634ef60-c14a-46c5-b76c-2bde.png

hi Matt,
Firstly, my ratio is 60/40 which i tried with small to large productions i.e. 0,45 m^2, 45 layers, 600 g/m^2 glass fiber; 10 m^2, 2 layers 300 g/m^2 carbon fiber, 1,12 m^2 28 layers 300 g/m^2 glass fiber etc.
I added peel ply, infusion mesh and pipes.
This program for gives an ideas for your infusion, it is not possible get directly right weight.
I think it is normal for very small infusions.
Thanks for your comments Smile

I have played with the app and compared it to our Resin Usage Calculator and found the figures are within a few percent in most cases which is more than close enough considering different views on "wastage levels" and peel ply uptakes etc.

I think it may be possible to add cores to it.  You would need an extra figure in the calculation - resin uptake in g/m2.  Some of the cores have that data available and it can be calculated for others by back calculating weight of the part with known laminate in it.

Resin ratio calculator seems to work fine from a few quick checks Ive done.

Looks to me like it will save people time so gets the thumbs up from me.
