Hi,k I have been skinning interior parts with 3k twill cloth, and have noticed in this cold weather it's taking a lot longer to cure. So I have put these parts beside my water heater. I am wondering what are the ideal conditions for curing and if say a plug in heater would help speed the cure.also, would a dremel be best to trim the edges off then sand?
Next I am hoping to skin a spare set of wing mirrors, would the profinish fabric be flexible enough to wrap around it. As the normal fabric might be difficult to place
Thanks

Curing Epoxy can be done at any temperature above 20 dec. C. and below 80 ...   The only problem can be moisture .. High humidity can give you problems with "Amine blush" and cloudiness in the epoxy.

Temperatures below 20 deg C AND high humidity certainly gives me problems with amine blush on the EC "coating resin"  ..  So I try to avoid that situation.

I often place smaller parts on top of my ordinary central heating radiators ... Works perfectly...  As long as the dog or the kids do not knock them down ... Doze

The profinish can be almost impossible around compound curves, and I would not use it on something like wing mirrors..

Epoxy needs to cure at around 20 degreesfor its full cure cycle. Anything less and it can ‘go off the boil’ and end upnever going off properly. As the weather get colder we get many calls frompeople with problems with resin curing, in most cases it's because the workingenvironment is colder that they thought.

Excess humidity and cold combined can be a killer for epoxy curing meaning it sometimes won't cure at all!  To rectify that it will need curing well above 20c in a dry environment to drive out the moisture.  Even then it might need a recoat to get rid of a tacky surface.

thank you for both for the information. I resorted to sanding off the uncured layer, then placing another 1st clear coat ontop which i sanded smooth before another few coats. surprisingly the cloudiness dissapeared and must have cured on the old resin as well as the clarity to the weave was restored. I know leave it on top of the boiler as the small space+heat should be dry enough Smile learning as a go haha
thanks again!
