The vaccuum pump's motor is in need of some inspections the commutator and brushes, I would imagine are in need of some cleaning maybe some lathe time
One thing I noticed with the larger pump is that the coupler between the motor and vaccum pump body are very tight even when the bodies are gently snugged together and on mine causes excessive friction that causes the motor to torque stall, It was fine when the motor was new and fresh but after a two/three years of use in the dusty garage the motor is now struggling and is need of some love ...
