Hi everyone..!

I'm new here on this forum... Also I'm new in composites world...Smile
My idea is to make carbon diving fins in mould with two sides with vacuum infusion. (dim. 20x70cm). In first few trys I used glass fibre and I had some "holes" without resin. Now I know the choice of resin was wrong....
My next try will be with carbon reinforcement and infusion epoxy resin.
From this point I need suggestions about tipe of carbon..(thickness.. UD or TWILL... or combination...) Fin have to be strong and shiny from both sides... Mould is made from plexyglass.

Plesae help...!

Hi
I have some experience in diving, so I wouldn't make cf fin, I would rather hit maybe one layer of cf and then multiple layers of kevlar or use only carbon/kevlar. The fin should have some flex so use rather polyester I would say. You don't need it to be stiff actually. I would not recommend here using soric etc. as it would be to stiff. I have some nice idea for ultralight fins, if you are interested just write here, because I will have to make some drawings etc.
Bye!

Ps. If you want to be pro diver you should prepare your own tank for air made out of carbon Tongue

Yes off course I'm interested! Please put some drawings here...! Smile
