Hi guys,

quite a while ago I came across the MTI hose, developed in Germany. A regular spiral tube (albeit a larger diameter) covered in an air-permeable membrane that is impervious to resins.

Question is, are any of you familiar with this product? They promise cosmetic, pinhole-free surface, without the need for catchpot and continuous vacuum. Was just curious if easycomposites or some of the other pros out there have any experience and if its worth giving a try, looks interesting.

Cheers

I have purchased and used the MTI hose and had very good results but have also had the same using the normal practice using spiral and and catch pot etc. I do like how it works and it is an excellent product and easy to use (compared to the standard practice) but the major downside for me is the cost @ 27.80 Euros for 5 metres compared to £3.50 for 10 metres of spiral.

Surely with some minimum volume that per metre cost will go down? Everything goes like this it seems. Dont forget, a few large bonus' from what I read is optional catch pot, no time covering tubing with peel ply and no resin starvation once infused-(vacuum stays full on). Maybe not such a big deal when working alone, but anything to help cross-training added employess is huge. The less they have to concentrate on the better.

Has anyone tested it with no IMC -( in mould coating) and recieved zero pinholes ?
