MTI Hose

Hi guys,

quite a while ago I came across the MTI hose, developed in Germany. A regular spiral tube (albeit a larger diameter) covered in an air-permeable membrane that is impervious to resins.

Question is, are any of you familiar with this product? They promise cosmetic, pinhole-free surface, without the need for catchpot and continuous vacuum. Was just curious if easycomposites or some of the other pros out there have any experience and if its worth giving a try, looks interesting.

Cheers

I love this product, hands down. As said, I have made some decent parts with the normal method, and further perfection is likely to result in pinhole free parts. Yet I have used the MTI hose on the last couple of parts and it works as described. Sure, it is expensive, but it saves a lot of time, and makes things much easier. The last part i made came out beautifully, no single pinhole on the whole part, no in-mould coating. Very high fiber to resin ratio, the part sounds very "ceramic" when tapped with something metal.

Either way I would suggest easy composites become a dealer for this in the UK, because as your name states, your products should make composites easier, and this certainly does. Even high-end professionals and consultants in the industry endorse this stuff.

cheers
