Hi,

I have a large, thin (1 and 2 layers of CF cloth), complex shape to infuse in a rather flexible mold. I have successfully infused one piece already but found the task of removing the peel ply and resin flow mesh after curing to be very difficult, and came close to damaging the this (2 layer) carbon part before removing it from the mold. I have to infuse a number of equally large parts that consist of only a single layer of carbon cloth and I am pretty sure they will not survive removing the peel ply and mesh layers.

Can I use perforated film instead of peel ply beneath the resin transfer mesh? I don't need the peel ply finish anyway?

Thanks,

     Phil.

Baja is spot on with this.  You need the release film between peel ply and mesh and you will find it much easier to demould afterwards.
