Some guys in California made I think 3 full sets of Empire strikes back Storm troopers suits in carbon fiber.
Google it, they look really nice.

Hi Guys
Thought you might get a kick out of a Trike I designed about 30 years ago. It is called the "Gayford Mantaray"
It was my first project that I made with fiber glass and polyester resin. I made it out of an aircooled VW grafted to a Yamaha motorcycle front end.
I flipped the axle and crown gear so I had what would be 4 reverse gears and one forward and in this way I could mount my frame to the back of the VW chassis and have 4 forward and one reverse gears. I built a 17 inch engine adapter that mounts to the bell housing which would move the engine farther from the axle. This needed doing because the front end was to light, it also made the bike look more like a production motorcycle.
I created the body in the old school way. Wood frame covered in chicken wire. Then over this burlap strips dipped in plaster paris to form a shell. Next 200 lbs of plaster paris to allow a rough sculpt of the body. Next lots of wax coatings. Now I built up layers of glass matte and polyester resin to a 1/4 inch thickness. Now I removed this shell and scrapped the plaster chickenwire buck. I remounted the glass shell and did the final sculpting with a total of 25 gallons of Bondo. I then made a 10 part mould to capture the shape. I have made two of these Trikes and each of them have won top awards where ever I show them. Back then I didn't know anything about carbon fiber so who knows maybe I will make one in carbon someday. I had hoped to produce many of these but it didn't happen. I still have the moulds and jigs for this bike. I still own and drive the one in the picture.
Hope you find this interesting.
Fred
