Hi Warren/guys

I've recently bought some of the new Clearpol polyester gelcoat to do a little bit of fibreglass work and noticed that it is very thin compared to other gelcoats I've used and smells somewhat different too which, I guess, is down to the particular formulation

It was well mixed prior to adding catalyst but fish-eyed very readily and didn't adhere too well to vertical sides, leading me to have to keep brushing over and apply a second coat. Its consistency was more like a resin than a gelcoat. Is it formulated for spraying ideally or is the low viscosity I've seen unusual?

Thanks

Had the styrene began to separate out during storage meaning the resin at the top was thinner than the stuff at the bottom?  Might be worth a check.  We have not noticed any significant differences batch to batch so it may well be fractionally thinner than the old gelcoat although it is hard to say without them side to side to compare.

What release agent are you using?
