I need to add some light transmisssion to a carbon fibre tube. Set of questions as follows;

What is the compressive strength of a 25mm CF tube along it’s axis?
What is the flexural strength of a 25mm CF tube?

Now the harder questions;

If I were to drill 0.5mm holes in a triangular pattern at 1.5mm equidistant spacings for a third of the diameter (ie in a “strip” down one side of the tube, how much strength would I lose?

Which tube do you mean?  We have a 25mm OD Roll wrapped tube and a 25mm OD Woven Finish tube.

The ones I have are the woven finish...

We don't yet have any mechanical data for the woven finish tubes, although we are hoping to do some mechanical testing on them once our testing laboratory is fully set up and functional.

In terms of how much  strength will be lost, there is no easy way of knowing without either doing some tests or running an FEA simulation in CAD.
