Hi,

I am interested in thoughts as to reasons for using a glass fibre (Such as woven glass 2/2 twill) layer with woven carbon fibre layer in a laminate.

My thoughts are corrosion resistance of a metal part if next to the glass and cost.

What difficulties are presented ?

Any illustrations of examples.

Could twill weave glass fibre be used for skinning.   Smile

From a structural perspective, glass fibre is fine for skinning but not as high a performance material as carbon fibre.

Corrosion between conductive metals can be prevented with a thin layer of glass fibre or resin between the two metals.
