Yep we are in cologne, but we dont have a manufacturing facility as we are design only.. We use capricorn and other local companies to do our layup, and up until it closed we had the f1 and cti facilities. I know airbus very well and stade, unless its ud m21e they arent interested. Bombardier and eurocopter are the only ones using new ways to manufacture aircraft parts.

Was sick the last week, but very interesting just reading along! Did I understand that correctly that you work in Germany for Caterham? I´m studing composites here in Stade and would just love to see the real thing. Airbus is good and all but the stuff they do is out of the stone age. would that be possible?

liked doing the bike but the Ali tooling is some of the worst designed I have ever seen and a waste of £100,000 !

bloody ell, that's banging the hours in , I think the most i done in a week was about 80 and I was shattered. But you get used to it! They taking on at the mo? ive still got my dibbers

GTR its the only way to go at the moment,they don't limit hrs so I'm doing 80/90 hrs a week and they have got some very high end stuff

Worked at URT for a year about 6 years ago and did all the chassis for the A1 gp cars and Palmer Audi but URT aren't what they use to be

Every thing else on the south coast is mickey mouse !

I worked for CTI the last 18 months made the first 5/6 carbon bike frames for marc who works with you

was aerospace for many years then moved to retrac in swindon for a year and now with caterham composites in germany, but I hardly do any layup anymore.

I thought it was bad with just a small intrusion panel but it had loads of inserts and square bosses, which was a nightmare.

The joy of cutting zylon is still pretty fresh in my memory !

Just finished the last F1 intrusion panel for the year (I hope !)

Basically the entire side of the tub with all suspension cut outs,18 plies !,all in a matched mould so all but joints for a perfect fit

20 hours of composite hell

Didn't anyony teach you the cutting trick with the heel of a 26 blade ?
