Ok Guys, I´ve got the roll!! The seller wasnt sure how much was on the roll but it looked like it was´nt touched becouse the end of the roll was taped to rapping paper. We weighed it out and came to the same amount that was on the sheet. All together there were 103m² on it. 10m² are already sold and I´m keeping 10 for myself to there are ~80m² for those who want it. Like I already wrote, the stuff is f***ing expensive (Sigmatex sells it for £60/m² (around 85€/m²)) and its hard to get by so I wont be selling it very cheap. The people that know what it is and need/want it will know what its worth.

I´m selling it for 42€/m² and a minimum of 5m² becouse its a bitch to cut. The material is 1m wide so shipping wont cost much in Europe. I have all the infos on the roll incl. roll nr. and all data sheets (from Toyobo (Zylon producer) and Sigmatex (they weave it and destribute it)). Quite important for people who want to make parts for street legal cars/bikes where material data is needed (Germany).

Bit bad pic form my Ipad. There are others in better quality that I posted before!

Just uploaded the pictures. Saw that the ones with the link had a problem.
Got the right data sheet from Sigmatex today. Its a 300g/m² material using the HM (high Modulus) version Zylon.

Cheers!

I´m quite happy that its Zylon. I have always wanted some sort of Material like Kevlar but that stuff is relativly hard to get in a good quality and to a good price. And it seem to be around 2 times as good as Kevlar so a total no brainer buying it! BigGrin
Yea, no problem! My semester has startet again so I´m here pretty much right up till the summer! Just write me or give me a call a few days before hand and we can talk things over! Wink

Yup ... Looking at the large pics of the roll, it's NOT "Gold Flashed Kevlar" its Zylon .... Still quite expensive though as you also state ..

I'm still trying to arrange a trip down to you in Germany ... Pinch  Still interested in the 8-pitch CF cloth ... and now also in a few metres of the Zylon w00t

Cheers!

Ok, I´ve made up my mind and am going to buy the whole roll of Zylon becouse I´ll probably never have the chance to get such material again to such a great price. I think the total amount on the roll is around 60-80m². The kind lady thats selling it thinks it kevlar so I´m getting it for 22€/m² Cool
If you guys need some if it I´ll be glad to spare a few m² Wink

Heres the datasheet to the stuff:

Ok, I called the hell out of my phone, and didnt get anyone that had any idea of anything for ages. Finaly I got a company in the Netherlands that sells the material unwoven. They said, that the average price of Zylon is around 205-210€/kg. Just looked at some aircraft grade Carbon roving and that costs around 40€/kg. This stuff is expencive as f***!! So for a cloth (without the weaveing costs) the price of the stuff that I got (think its around 250-300g/m² would cost 52€/m². So if you could get it in a shop it would probably cost around 70-80€/m². I´m going to talk to a professor hier that knows alot about stuff like that. Maybe he can tell me more about it!

I´m pretty sure its Zylon. Looked at some data and other products that are made of Zylon and it looks almost the same. Do you guys know what a good price is? I cant find anything to it. would like to use it as a Kevlar replacement for some crash parts on my bike.

That looks like  "gold-flashed" kevlar twill ...

It has been used in specialized Aerospace applications for heat shielding.

It is kevlar fibres covered by an ultra thin reflective gold layer to enhance the heat reflection of the cloth!

Try putting a propane torch to a sample BigGrin

If it is genuine gold flash kevlar, it is very expensive stuff...

Herrs a little bit of it. On the upper edge you can see the 'normal' kevlar.

But I still dont know what it is and have no data of it. Maybe you guys have an idea.
