Can anyone give me some advice as to how to make a mould from this spoiler plug I'm making?

I'm thinking a split along the top and barriers to the front and rear edges?

For ease I would go with a three piece mould although you probably wouldn't have any issues with a two piece mould

do you intend to make it with all 3 sides and thus bond them together, or do you want to try to make it 1 piece as this will effect how I would make the mould?

personally Id make it 2 piece and have one of the joins under the part that bolts to the car (i.e. hidden face) and the other on an edge, but leave a gap in the hidden edge (so it won't be a complete 3 sided totally joined piece, but does it need to be? would 2 sides with returns to bolt to car be ok?)... I would then lay the 2 parts up with the first layer, then bolt them together and fully overlay the back edges for strength, then bag it up.

Why not have the base as one part (joins front and back) and the main body as the second part.  Joints would be virtually hidden and it shouldn't mecahnically lock.

My paint skills are nowhere near as good as yours so I hope the description is OK!

But wouldn't it then be a closed mould? How would I lay it up and bag it?
Or do you mean make the top and bottom pieces separately and bond them together after.

Yeah, I'd do them as separate parts.  3mm soric core will leave you with a nice large bonding surface Smile

Thats the one, exactly what I was meaning.  I'm a belt and braces man so I'd put tape down the inside too.
