It all depends on the size and shape of the parts, the more curves and swage lines, the less you'll need

My kit-car body is about 3-5mm thk CSM and flexes slightly, lots of curves in there though, they used to make it 7mm thk and solid as a rock but it was soo heavy

Hi Tom,
I would recommend using a 300gram/1 ounce chopped strand mat skin coat letting it completely cure, then give it a light sanding for a mechanical key, Then lay it up with  two layers of 600g / 2oz  then add 2oz strips in straregic places for extra strength or you could choose a lighter lay up 1oz skin / 3mm core mat / 1 1/2 oz over lay this would give the bodykit a good ridgity!!
                                                                                                   Kind regards

Hi Tom,
Mat is correct I gave you the weights off the c.s.m in grams and ounces / metric and imperial, these are set weights for grades of chopped strand mat that I recommend hope this helps?

                                                                                          Kind Regards

you think after 1 layer 300 2 layer 600 you think parts be stable and not weight a lot? as main thing for me not be very flexible and not to weight like a wall.

What about one layer of 300grms either side of 3mm 3D core, less resin uptake than coremat so should help keep the weight down. Vac bagging with breather cloth would remove any excess resin as well if weight is a major factor.
