Ha Ha, sorry business is businessSmile You will very soon get things working correctly, believe me," been there done that." But when everything "clicks" there is no greater satisfaction (well maybe there is BigGrin) than pulling a perfect part from a mould. Once you reach that stage it's easy Ha Ha.

Sorry meant to ask sooner, where about's in the world are you?

If it where me and you wish to increase your profit margin.

2 layers of 200grm Carbon
1 layer of either 320 or 440grm Biaxial Glass Cloth.

The Biaxial is very cheap but adds great strength and stiffness plus once infused it is almost clear allowing the Carbon to show through giving the appearance that the part is solid CarbonWink Or if the part has no exposed edges you could replace the second layer of Carbon for Diolen. The second layer is only really there to prevent "transparency" between the nodes of the weave.

Yeah for the inside of a car. Well, I've already sprayed the GC for this one, so may be I'll pass for the next draws, but I still need to masterize the GC spraying for oustide parts Wink

ok what I can try here is

- 1 pro finish
- 1 200gsm
- 1 450gsm

That's very thin 0.5mm, that will flex a lot and it would be very easy to generate a lot of heat during polishing. I would say minimum 3 layers. I rarely do anything less than 4 layers or 1mm. Is the part for inside or outside the car? If it is inside don't bother with the GC50 just make the part resin rich.

...oh and, for that part I used only two layers of 200gsm carbon fabric, I wonder whether if 's not too few. It makes the part really flexible, so it's cracks prone I guess.

Should I make it 3 layers ?

Ok, I've just finished a new GC round in my mold, triyig to make it thinner, we'll see... Making it thinner, I'm always afraid to miss surface spots (it happened one time, in a quadran of my mould I had only drops of GC, not all of the surface was sprayed with a clean layer; Had to make a second pass once cured.... Sad I know...).

I'm thinking, could the heating action of the polishing wheel make the structure weaker ? I've noticed it soften the part, which harden back when cooling down, but could this have incidence ?
