Hello I'am going to start up with my first carbon fiber part. Its a small interior panel. As this is my first part I want some help so I don't do too many mistakes in the beginning. I have bought some chemicals for the mold that I'am going to pick up saturday:

Epoxy Tooling Gelcoat
Easy-Lease Chemical Release Agent1
Epoxy Mould Making Putty
Soft Filleting and Filling Wax
Meguiar's mirror glaze mold release wax nr. 8

I have attached a picture of the panel I want to create a mould from. Its steel and the bondo is a polyester body bondo.

For the  flanges arround the part I have bought polypropylene sheets as I have read that the gelcoat would not stick to the PP plastic.

I am wondering if i should wax the part before I apply the Easy-lease, or should I use Easy-lease before I wax the part???

Thank you Hanaldo

I picked up the mold equipment on saturday, but I was not satisfied with the surface after sanding the bondo. The panel was straight but there was small holes in the bondo. So I had to apply a spray can bondo that i got from a friend yesterday. Is the easycomposites Pattern-Coat Hi-Gloss better to use after i got the plug straight?

How do I get the best surface on a plug I want high gloss?

Iam going to sand it down today and hopefully start making the mold.
