I had a few requests for fuel tanks. I had one of my first seat/tank units which I was not happy with. So I decided to cut it up to use the tank portion of the unit...

Here are a few shots... The part was not great when I started so was perfect as a first test part. 

Here is the roughly cut tank.. 


I offered it up to the tank base mould to check where it had to be trimmed. 


Here is the base being laid up..


The high tech inserts being installed... haha...  It does not get much easier and cheaper than this...


Just finished lay up with the inserts installed and covered with carbon.

A quick update... This is the first tank I have made from scratch using the new material.. This is as it came out of the mould... You can still see the excess resin flashing on the mould joint seams... No polishing it really is just out of the mould...
