then i suppose spraying will be the only way.

i have a undercan spraygun wich is actually designed for underbody sealant and such, could this work or is the gellcoat spraygun the only way to go?

also if you must brush apply, only do it for wetlay parts.  The brush marks when resin infused distort the carbon weave slightly.

Hi, I use GC50 a lot and for me it has to be spray applied. You may get away with roller application on a flat mould but I found it almost impossible on a mould with vertical sides etc, especially if you are using something like Easy Lease release agent. Also GC50 doesn't like double coating, it doesn't want to stick to itself and if it is applied too thickly you loose the clarity of the CF. If you are planning using it often I would say invest in the EC Gelcoat gun. If not just clear coat your finished parts.

hey guys, i'm quite new into this and i had a question about the GC50 gelcoat.

I've read that the gelcoat actually isn't easy to brush apply on the mold, neither with a roller.

however, on the website they say it is possible.

Is it possible to give it 1 layer gelcoat, even if it has the 'fisheye' effect, let this layer cure, and then add a 2nd one to fill the rest of the inpurity's
(fisheye or other little dots).

would it be a good idea to sand the layer once its cured, so the carbon or kevlar wave can't be disturbed by an uneven coat?

sorry if it's a stupid question, but i dont know weither i'd buy the spraygun or try it with a brush first
