Fibreglass part resins?

Group: Forum Members Posts: 39, Visits: 380	Hi I'm making a carbon sunroof bung which will be in two parts that I bond together at the end like the carbon bonnet video. The top outward facing side will be carbon but I want to make the underside out of just fibreglass to cut costs My question is what resins do i use for just a fibreglass part? Gel coat -Can I use any black gel coat? Resin-Which resin is best for this? Fibreglass-do I have to use the powderd csm? This is for wet layup Thanks for any help

Group: Forum Members Posts: 346, Visits: 4.4K	You can use any resin system for the top or bottom If its purely cosmetic, I would go for polyester resin with a single layer carbon backed up with glass for the top and then more polyester resin and glass for the bottom layer Powdered CSM is for epoxy, emulsion is for polyester

Group: Forum Members Posts: 39, Visits: 380	Well the carbon side I'm infusing iv already got all the stuff for that but I'm just on about the back panel for it where all the mounting points are. so if I get some black gelcoat, powderd csm and some epoxy resin and wet lay the back will that be good enough u think?
