Can you provide a picture of the heavy dutty carbon fiber? I'm using a normal flexible carbon fiver bought in easy composites in a chainstay of my bike but the clear transparent layer it's starting to peel off and It haves few hours of practice.... It's a downhill bike... the rear section takes a lot of bumps and the chain hits the frame A LOT....
Will the heavy dutty flexible CF work?

Hi Kyle,
It would certainly take the abuse, it is a 2.5 thick material commonly used for
mudflaps
, but it may not curve very easily to your chainstay, if it's a box-section chainstay you could just apply it to the top face and I'm sure it would be fine.
The other thing to note is that it doesn't have a self adhesive backing, I'm sure a high quality double-sided tape will work to do the job.
I'll get the image on the product page very shortly.

Already seen the sample Paul(thanks E.C.)! I think it will work but the angles are to tight to glue in the bike frame.
Can it be moulded applying heat ?
Currently its in place using zip ties but the chain strikes the zip-ties and breaks them! If the sheet hold position I could glue it to the frame without the hazard of the protection hitting the back wheel or the spokes.
It almost look like this:

Hi Kylle,
The thick flexible sheet can't really be re-formed using heat. It would respond to some extend but I don't think it's going to give you the results you're after. I did mention in another thread our new flexible epoxy resin. I think this might be a good idea for what you're working on here. Perhaps this is what you had in mind when you asked about the flexible epoxy?
