Dear All,

I could not find any relevant information on this topic, which is why I am reaching out for advice.

I am attempting to infuse composite tubes and have 3D-printed a mold using a soluble polymer to facilitate easy removal at the end of the process. I have also developed a method to keep the fibers (tested with both glass and carbon) tightly positioned during the infusion. Additionally, I have found a way to secure the peel ply and the vacuum bag effectively.

However, I am encountering an issue: when applying vacuum, wrinkles form in the bag due to the multiple turns of the fibers, as I am trying to create a multi-layered tube.

Has anyone faced a similar challenge or has any suggestions on how to mitigate this problem?

Best regards,
Raf

You may find its the fibre itself wrinkling.  The tighter the fabric can be wound around, the less it can move as you pull vacuum. However you may find there is a limit to what you can practically do.  Also consider if there is any compression of your core under vacuum as that will make things worse.  You want to achieve full vacuum for best results with infusion.
