The Soric, where do you source that? Fab work by the way. Any reason you used that instead of the Easy Comp stuff?

Your work looks very good!
But isn't there any thing wrong in that gap between the rear clam and the window?

I'm planning to do the same to my Elise, so keep up the the good work.

I think they may be air intakes/ ducts?

I take it then the standard door latches and handles will be a straight fit onto the carbon doors aswell andy?

Im really impressed! Out of curiosity what have you spent so far on the rear clam and the doors?

clam isn't properly fitted or aligned, its just bolted on so to speak.... and they are air intakes that look out of place due to the different colour of the panels which should normally be the same... car is currently either primer or raw carbon lol.

all the door locks etc bolt straight up to the door... biggest headache has been my decision to ditch all the winow mechanism and design my oen electric window setup instead... literaly only used the glass and their runners and made up the rest... I bonded bolts to the glass using carbon and made the bracketry from.. carbon Smile
Glass goes down 1.5inches further than in a stock Noble and it weighed a few grams lighter, so win win.

I've spent around 7-8k... but I have moulds and carbon panels for almost the whole car, also have lots of material left to make another entire set.... bear in mind the same panels in glassfibre would be 5-6k... and they wouldnt fit anything like as well as mine do and would require a heap of bodywork time in filling gaps etc

Lets be hounest, you would pay close to 2k for a single door to similar quality as mine... so I recon its a worth the cost.

I get the soric from easycomposites... only the spray tack I get elsewhere as they havnt managed to get a supplier for the better stuff we all really want.

Looks really nice!

I have a question, why would you use glass in the doors over polycarbonate? And do you really need them working?

I made some poly windows... they where too flexible and I want my windows to open fully... i actually remade the entire winder mechanism to make it go down further than standard at same time as making them electric, ended up a few grams lighter as well.

To be fair with the amount of weight saving on the car, keeping glass windows as a nod to practicality is a good idea if you plan to drive it on the road.

My last "project car" was a stripped out tarmac rally/track beast with no interior, climbing frame to get in, window sliders, no heater etc and for the sake of 20kg I would have rather had the windows and heater.

With my current car im keeping electric windows and some form of heater.  At least that way i can drive it when i want.

It all depends on the individual, personally I need as little weight as possible (With only 235hp).

My doors made from 100% Aramid with 4mm Margard windows and with locking mechanisms and door cards they weigh in at 4.2kg each! (Painting them will add more weight).

With regards to Poly windows flexing, you would need to make non pillar-less doors and thermo moulded windows from P4P.
