it costs more than the genuine one from the dealers, but the OEM bumper won't fit without some modification to the inside bumper brace and the car.

i'll take a couple more pics of where the material has overlapped.

personally i would think it would work, its designed to allow air to pass over the piece and create an equal vacuum across the whole part and soak up excess resin. maybe someone with a great deal more composite experience could shed some light.

I don't think that this white is breather, I don't see how infusion would work with breather. Breather would stop the flow of the resin. Is there any chance that is unsaturated veil???Also I see that under the carbon there is fiberglass mat and not woven. Am I correct? How much does this bumper cost??

i did speak to the guy who makes them, he said at first they did use pre-preg to do the engine cover lid but it worked out to expensive (not much profit basically), but the parts that were supplied are done with resin infusion, then autoclaved at 60deg then up to 100deg.

i have pulled some bits plastic sheet that was left in the tight corners

think i might give it a try as i'm ready to do another panel

Probably these parts were made with RTM method, similar to infusion technique but without the need of resin flow mesh since resin is injected in the mold with pressure. Probably it's heavy too. it would be helpfull if you could post few more photos

wow pics are a little bigger than i thought! but you can see in the second pic the fibres in the resin and i have pulled off some bagging film from the corners. looking at the inside you can see where the bag has creased and left lines of resin (not in the pic)

we had a gallardo come in at work a few days ago for an updated front bumper and some superleggera mods. basically the superleggera front bumper does'nt fit the older gallardo's so a few company's have done there own, we had one delivered. its a fibreglass bumper with a carbon lower half. its made using infusion but from what i can see its not made with the infusion mesh. it looks like it had a layer of breather fabric on top of the fabric stack then the bagging film.

is this a short cut?

i'll post up some pics shortly!
