I use tempered safety glass with 8mm thickness. Never had an issue with that, but never tried anything else either. Not very demanding application tho as with the slow ramp rates you will have very.....

I have used standard window glass. Even used old double glazed units (but remember to drill a few holes in the material holding the two pieces together so the expanding air can escape! I have also.....
