Hi there

I like the concept of low-temperature pre-pregs but living in New Zealand am thinking shipping would be problematic, given the requirement of keeping the material frozen.

Recently I came across articles describing UV curable pre-preg. This would eliminate (I imagine) any shipping problems and potentially make curing even simpler than low temp pre-preg. Has Easy Composites carried out any research on this material? Apologies if this has already been talked about, I did do a search before posting Smile

Cheers.

If you are referring to the X-Preg system as low temp curing, then it really isn't, it is more of a medium temp cure. Shipping shouldn't be any issue as the material as an out-life of one month, and I have even used material that has sat out of the freezer for several months with no issues. The shipping from the UK to NZ will only take 3 or 4 days, so realistically you will just lose a few days of out-life before you put it back in the freezer or use it.

Hi Hanaldo
Thanks for this advice, great to know. I didn't realise the X-Preg system had such a resilient shelf-life. I guess in my case, just so long as the shipment doesn't sit for too long on a hot tarmac somewhere on the way over, all would be well.
Cheers and thanks.

If it's any comfort, I'm in Perth Australia and I've bought many metres of X-Preg from Easy Composites, as well as Easy Preg before that. I've never had any issues, so even though you're a  it further, I think you should be fine Smile
