A friend of mine wants me to build the wing in this photo for his F100.
Would you make this as a single flat sheet with a cosmetic layer followed by several layers of heavy cloth, or, 2 layers of Carbon, PVC core, and 2 layers of carbon? Hardware is on him to figure out. Just talking the layup.
Deadline is August for a 250 mile rally run up a highway.

In the pictures I can see it just looks like a flat sheet of aluminium with a gurney flap on the rear and end plates riveted on. Cored material is the way to go. Keeps the weight down. You could.....

Thanks! I was leaning towards a core. Also thinking about strips of Kevlar (sandwiched between the carbon) where the hardware will be attached. His truck has around 750 bhp so I’m going to assume....

Foam core with kevlar patches to help reduce rip through of the fixings should be plenty for that kind of application. The truck might be powerful but I doubt it has massive high speed due to being....
