prepreg curing

h Group: Forum Members Posts: 15, Visits: 651	Hello, I want to make tubes from prepreg. I will use shrink tape for consolidation. unfortunately I can not control the ramping of my oven. I can only adjust it to a certain temperature. Is it possible to pre-heat the oven up to curing temperature ( for example 100 degree Celsius) and then put the parts inside ? tnx

Group: Forum Members Posts: 2.5K, Visits: 28K	It's not really as important for the method you are using, as your surface finish is off the shrink tape and isn't going to suffer from pinholes as much from the resin not flowing before it cures. So yes, you can cure it in the way you describe.

So yes, you can cure it in the way you describe. thank you for the reply how about cooling? since i can't control the ramping, would it be fine to turn off the oven after 8hr and wait until it gets to room temperature ? would it be fine to decrease the temperature like this?
