I would like to make a clone of my guitar in CF using my guitar as a mould. Do you think I do this without destroying the finish on my guitar?

I would take the opportunity to make a body yourself. With varnished surfaces it is always a bit of a hit or miss of it works or not. And if you make the effort of building the mold you might as well...

Thanks - I guess technicallyI want to use the guitar as a plug to make a mould. It is a solid body and want to understand if the various release wax required etc. will prevent the original lacquer...

It's so so difficult to say, theres so many types of paint that aren't compatible with fibreglassing resins. When in doubt, it's definitely safer to say it isnt compatible and use PVA release agent.
