I notice you have used a couple of products in the video that you do not sell on your site, namely the polyester gel coat, tack spray and release tape. Could you tell me if you intend to start selling these products?

Yes, we'll be selling all of those, plus the cup-gun. The release tape will be with us next week, the epoxy compatible polyester spray-gel we're working on a distribution deal for at the moment and the spray-tack we'll also have pretty soon.

And those smiles when you demold the parts are epic...

Haha! - True; we've been doing this for years and the pleasure I get when something just pops straight out and looks perfect hasn't faded one bit. - When we do the video it's even more important than in normal production that the part comes out right - we never cheat so when we de-mould we're doing it for real and me and the viewer see the part for the first time at the same time.

I loose sound for a minute or so at 4:20.  Again at 15:00 for 10 seconds.  tried reloading it but still the same.

Yes, again, it's just an early edit so that I can get some feedback and also keep the 'sneak previews' coming to share on the forum. There's some voiceover to go in there.

Also you sped up the infusion.  How long was it in real life?  Might be useful to edit the commentry to mention it to reassure people they are doing it right if it seems like its taking a while for them.

Yes, again, there will be voiceover there too and we'll show a clock graphic in the bottom corner of the screen to give the exact details of the time the infusion takes. The top of the bonnet was 60 mins, the inside was 38mins (the 660g carbon infuses very quickly).

For any quality obsessives out there, you can also watch the same video in full 1080 resolution using this Vimeo link:

Did think you were going to burst out giggling at that point Laugh

Thought there might be some extra voiceovers.

Hi,

A few suggestions:

- Specifying which tip diameter for the gun, along with the working pressure.

- Specifying how thick would the polyester gelcoat should be (min and max). One application, or several?

- Explaining why you do not spray the acetone directly on the gelcoat and would the application on the fabric also work with some thicker fabric (like 660 g/sqm for example).

- When you lay the distribution mesh, pointing than Soric core dont need distribution mesh on the whole surface (even if you explain it later, during consumables layup it may be confusing).

- Pointing that using a metal chisel to demold may lead to scratches depending on how wide are the flanges before the actual part and/or if the part pops in once, chisel could slip on it.

- Explaining that you added more fabric in critical areas like hinges location etc.

I hope I dont get too picky Whistling

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the feedback; it's all useful and will help me to get things as clear as possible for the final edit. All the filming for this project is completely finished now so I can use your feedback and others' feedback to check through and then upload the finished 3 Part video.

There won't be any more previews now as the final part turned out to be pretty short and self-explanatory I think so watch this space for a link to the final series in the next few days.

All the best, Matt
