Hi Jan,

It's on order, we're just waiting for it to come in. We were lined up to distribute a different product at the time we filmed the video but unfortunately the manufacturer went out of business so we've had to search long and hard to find another product as good.

As soon as it's available we'll list it on the site and add it to the 'shopping list' for Video #2.

When you watch them through the Learning Centre you'll see a full list of the products used in each video in the 'shopping list' in the right hand side (so you don't have to go routing through the whole store to find products that are of interest:
So stop nagging me!! Wink

The vids are great but where's that spray you used to partially hold the carbon fibre in place whilst layering?

thanks,

Jan

Hi Dave,

I saw your post yesterday and meant to weigh the original when I was back at the studio but I forgot. I would guess it's maybe 3 times the weight (or more) of the carbon fibre one but I'll get an accurate weight of both, with all their fittings and post the details here.

Thanks Joe,

The next video will be how to repair a damaged carbon/kevlar kayak because we filmed it last year and it just needs a bit of voice over to finish it off. After that we've got a couple of 'product videos' to upload - nothing too spectacular for the seasoned veterans of this forum (and this thread in particular) but they should help people understand and use some of our products better (simple things like where the oil goes in the vacuum pump and how to tell when it's pulling against a sealed bag etc.) but then we'll be on to the next 'big' video which will probably be pre-preg carbon fibre (we've got some amazing tricks to show people!) and then vacuum casting for rapid prototyping.

So, first up, enjoy this new series, next, buy, then break a kayak while you're waiting for the pre-preg videos (which I know will be popular)!

Oh, and everyone send in pictures of their perfect carbon fibre bonnets/hoods. Ours ways about 4kgs and is available for inspection at Easy Composites HQ Wink

Haha, about time, huh?

Great video serie. I've watched the 3 and they are great. The little things you added (first example in mind: building carbon tape thickness to reach soric thickness) delete many guesswork we might have.

Great editing.

Now when is the next serie, and what will it be?

Thank you for taking the time to make all that work for us. I know its part a promotional stuff, but some other guys would make a dvd and ask us 30 euros for the exact same stuff, while you give precious tips totally free.

I knew I was right when I first ordered stuff from you Wink

Cheers from Belgium.

It's all online now folks in its full editted down glory!

All three videos are live. Now that they're final I've added them to our Online Learning Centre. You can also use the links below to jump straight to each video. When you watch them through the Learning Centre you'll see a full list of the products used in each video in the 'shopping list' in the right hand side (so you don't have to go routing through the whole store to find products that are of interest:

How to Make a Carbon Fibre Car Bonnet/Hood - Part 1/3

How to Make a Carbon Fibre Car Bonnet/Hood - Part 2/3
How to Make a Carbon Fibre Car Bonnet/Hood - Part 3/3

They're full HD (1080p) videos so if your bandwidth allows, please check them out in full quality, it's so much better for seeing exactly what's happening.

So stop nagging me!! Wink
