Hi,
We don't see any problem with coating epoxy over the mod podge. Similar projects are done with PVA glue with no problem. In fact for your project, you want to ensure you get a good coating of the mod podge to seal in the card and paper. This is because, lower grade cards and paper have a tendency to soak up liquid and go translucent - imagine wet newspaper. So a sealing coat of mod podge or PVA glue will protect the paper from the resin soaking in and thus you can maintain the original finish. If you have some spares knocking around, i might be a good idea to knock up a test piece to experiment with mod podge and the resin so you get the right amount of coverage without the resin soaking in.
